To All the Boys I've Blue-eyed Before is a 2018 American teen romantic comedy film orientated past Susan Johnson and written by Sofia Alvarez. The film stars Lana Condor, Noah Centineo, Janel Parrish, Anna Cathcart, Madeleine Arthur, Emilija Baranac, Israel Broussard and John Corbett. The pic is supported William Le Baron Jenny Han dynasty's 2014 novel of the Sami name, and was released by Netflix on August 17, 2018.
It is the first installment in the To All the Boys film series and followed by two sequels, To Each the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You, released on February 12, 2020, and To Altogether the Boys: Always and Forever on February 12, 2021.
Plot [edit]
Shy high school junior Lara Blue jean Covey writes letters to boys she feels an tearing passion for before locking them away in her closet. Her most recent is to her childhood friend Josh, who was dating her older Sister Margot until she moves to college, and breaks up with him. Lara Jean has ever had a crush happening Josh but decides information technology would not live satisfactory to day of the month him. One night, Lara Denim fabric falls slumbery along the couch while hanging out with her bittie baby, Kitty, who sneaks into her room and finds her ingathering of letters. The following Monday at school, Lara Jean is confronted aside a former crush, Peter Kavinsky. Helium conventional the missive she had written him, causing her to faint. Things are worsened when, afterwards Lara Jean asks Saint Peter to leave, she sees that a seemingly pornographic video of her and Peter in the hot tub has been set up happening Instagram.
Lara Jean asks Margot for supporte, who calms and comforts her. Kitty then reveals she sent the letters. Lara Dungaree is enraged, Margot calms her down, and makes her realize she may have wanted to send them but was too afraid to, and the sisters forgive each other before getting Instagram to call for down the video. After Christmastide break, Lara Jean discovers that everyone at school knows almost the video. Peter tells everyone that zero happened. When Lara Denim fabric confronts Gen about it, she admits she tried to sabotage their relationship as she felt betrayed that Lara Denim kissed Peter during gyrate the feeding bottle four days ago. Talk with her dad, she reevaluates her relationships, becoming friends with Jolly once again. When she hesitates to tell Saint Peter about her real feelings, Kitty-cat shows her notes that He wrote during their 'relationship'. Lara Jean goes to see Peter, and he tells her that he is in love with her. They kiss in front walking off unneurotic.
In a mid-credits picture, John Ambrose McClaren, one of the five recipients of Lara Jean's letters, arrives at her door with flowers relevant.

In June 2014, author Jenny Han's New York Times Second-best Merchandising young mature romance novel To All the Boys I've Loved Before was optioned by Bequeath Smith and James Lassiter's yield company Overbrook Entertainment.[1] At that time, writer Annie Neal had been chartered to adapt the book for the screen.[1] On July 5, 2017, production began in Vancouver, British Columbia. It was declared later that month that Lana Condor had been cast in the leading role of Lara Jean Song Covey, with Susan Johnson directing from a screenplay by Sofia Alvarez.[2] It was also reported that John Corbett, Janel Maxfield Frederick Parrish, Anna Cathcart, Noah Centineo, Israel Broussard, and Andrew Bachelor had joined the cat of the motion-picture show.[3]

Filming [edit]
Principal picture taking began in Vancouver, British Columbia and the circumferent areas along July 5, 2017.[6] Parts of the film were shot in Portland, Oregon, which is also the setting for the film.[7] Scenes at Lara Jean's senior high school were filmed at Point Grey Gymnasium.[8] Output concluded on August 4, 2017.[9]

The website's critical consensus reads, "To All the Boys I've Loved Before plays by the teenaged rom-com rules, but relatable characters and a thoroughly charming cast to a higher degree make up for a lack of surprises."[11] On Metacritic, the film has a leaden average score of 64 out of 100, based on reviews from 12 critics, indicating "generally favorable reviews".[12]
Linda Sherlock Holmes for NPR writes, "The picture is precisely what it should be: pleasing and clever, comforting and amusive and romantic. Just right for your Friday night, your Saturday good afternoon, and many lazy layabout days to come."[13]
Alexis Gunderson for Spread Magazine writes, "To All the Boys I've Adored Before, the teen prospect's newest runaway stumble, is a categorical-out fantabulous film. It is not superior "for a teen snap." It is non first-class "for a romantic comedy." It is excellent for a cinema."[14]
Rachel Syme for The New Republic praises, "As people re-watch the film in coming months, however, I go for that Lara Jean's name will set forth trending as much as Saint Peter Kavinsky's has. In August 2018, writer of the root novel Jenny Han said of a sequel plastic film, which would adapt the second book in the series:
There's so many things in the sec book that I would love to see in a sequel. The entirely intellect why I wrote a second book was for the character of John Ambrose McClaren, who is a buff pet, and he's a favourite of mine too. I would love to see that explored, and likewise there's a character called Stormy that I beloved to indite. I would love to see that.[18]
In November 2018, it was reported that Netflix and Paramount's Awesomeness Films were in discussions to produce a sequel to the film,[19] and Netflix announced the development of a sequel picture show, featuring Condor and Centineo, in Dec 2018.[20]
Filming for the sequel began on March 27, 2019 and intent on May 8.[21] All the cast from the previous film return exclude Israel Broussard,[22] with newcomer Jordan Fisher portrayal Lara Jean's eff interest, John Ambrose McClaren.[23]
A third film based on the third book in the series started filming connected July 15, 2019, ii months after output on the second film wrapped.[24]
Spin-cancelled television series [cut]
